Product Marketing

Of the 4 Ps of Marketing, product is the first. That means a marketing campaign doesn’t exist without a product to market. To begin a marketing campaign, you have to decide which product or service to promote and market before you start. There are many reasons why a customer may be attracted to your product or service.

How to attract customers to my product or service?

Firstly, you can offer convenience. There are many restaurants and food places that offer low quality food such as McDonalds but since they are always at the Interstate exits, it is very convenient for people to stop by and eat. Real estate is key to restaurants and convenience.

Secondly, you can entice people to your product is your product is new and unique. People like new things but real new products are rare and not everyone can come up with one.

You can also attract customers to your product or service is you offer added functions or benefits to existing products. For example, you don’t have to invent a new operating system, you product can be a software that improves on the existing one as an added on.

Nowadays, everyone has too much to do and too little time. If your product offers improved performance or increased efficiency, people will value your product.

Brand names still sell. If you can bring a well known and popular brand name into association with your product, the produce may sell itself without you having to put in too much marketing efforts.

The packaging helps sell the product. Some types of packaging makes the product look valuable whereas others can make it look cheap.

The looks of the product also heavily influence whether customers will buy. A nice looking product is more likely to sell to everyone whereas an ugly product will only sell to those who do not care about appearances and there aren’t many especially if there are competitor products.
